I am not commenting on the video here but on the vitriol of John Kwok. It really is amazing how characters like him have the propensity not to intelligently and sympathetically criticize but rather to cynically deride and scoff at those who have an informed comment to make. Brilliant though Kwok imagines himself to be his mind cannot cast off the yoke of bigotry. Does he think Stephen Meyer or double doctorate William Dembski are 'head in the clouds' half wits? Every argument I have heard from ID advocates and critics of the Darwinist new synthesis is measured, courteous, reasonable, and informed. Nobody is saying evolution didn't take place or isn't taking place. That argument is hackneyed and anachronistic. ID advocates are merely questioning the method of change. No neo-Darwinist has proved empirically that change comes about by purely random mutation i.e. fortuitous accident. Their belief is just as much faith as faith in God. If the great Kwok can prove how the coding mechanism of DNA, which codes for the synthesis of mega complex protein structures could have arisen by accident then we might overlook his ill- mannered and bigoted offerings because this whole debate would then come to an end.

This was video made me think in ways and on the subject in profound ways. Whatever your view point on this subject this is a must watch video. It presents evidence accepted from both sides of the view and leaves you as the audience to decide what the evidence presents. Those in support of creation or ID find a lot of evidence in support of their view point. Those who do not hold that view point are presented with evidence confirmed by those who also do not hold this view point and it makes maintaining such a view point very difficult based on current theory. Holding on to a old theory of which the evidence does not support shifts such a view point from evidence based to requiring more faith than a creation world view. To keep holding onto old theory that is not supported by the evidence found is something science does not allow. Science is not advanced by with holding or ignoring evidence that is discovered that contradicts a theory. This is a must watch for anyone who is interested in real science based on the evidence we have, to ignore the evidence to maintain current theory is not science.

The film is exquisite - in its contents. Slow beginning, with some CGI, which were not too distracting. A slow first movement, viewing the history of fossil hunting. Then progressing - and picking up the pace - then landing squarely on the Chengjiang fossils. The deconstruction of Evolutionary Theory continues building in intensity until finally, the theory is blown away by the observation that even if natural selection was capable of generating useful new DNA, it could not create new body plans - since it plays no part in the final morphological form of the organism. Mutate the DNA as much as you like, the "blue-print" for the architecture of the organism lies elsewhere. Of course, at the final stages of this film, is the proposal for Intelligent Design; but hopefully - the viewer would by this point - understand where these Scientists are coming from.

If you hold Evolution closely to your heart, then do not watch this DVD. (It's unscientific to be enamoured by any theory, still people do cling to beliefs that best suits their world view) For those with an open mind, Scientists included, this is a "must see."

"Allow Me to Summarize"

The gist of the argument is "evolution works in fact, but does it work in theory?"
When that argument gets blown away, these folks change the facts or simply ignore the inconvenient ones.
I wish all people would understand a few simple points:
1. Evolution occurs - no scientist in the world doubts this. Mutation and natural selection are very hard facts. If they are true than we change -- evolve.
2. Evolution occurs in humans and is still taking place. See above and see [...]
3. Evolution has NO position on the origin of life. None whatsoever. It only kicks in after life begins.
4. There is no argument based on religion against evolution. It is neutral on all religious questions. Check with the Pope.

I think you would have to be willfully ignorant to believe in the Neo-Darwinian paradigm after watching this DVD. Every fact is confirmed by prominent scientists, and we can be fully confident that there was a sudden appearance of many diverse body types in The Cambrian Explosion about 550 million years ago. Of course, inertia will keep both YEC's and Darwinists from being able to deal with a paradigm shift, but the writing is clearly on the wall.
